We sell used vans to Warrington buyers from a forecourt about eight miles up the A49 at Haydock Cross, in Haydock, St Helens — normally fifteen to twenty minutes from the middle of Warrington, and less than that from Winwick or Culcheth. The WA postcode area, which covers Warrington as well as Widnes, Runcorn and our own corner of St Helens, is home to a great many of our customers. So most of what follows is written from selling vans to people who live down the road rather than from a map.
Where we are, and how long the drive really takes

The forecourt is on Haydock Cross Industrial Estate, off Kilbuck Lane in Haydock, WA11 9UX. From Warrington town centre the simple route is straight up the A49 Winwick Road, through Winwick and Newton-le-Willows, into Haydock — no motorway at all if you would rather avoid it. If you are already on the M6 it is junction 21A up to junction 23, which is two junctions and a few minutes.
From the east of the town — Birchwood, Woolston, Padgate — the M62 west to junction 9 and then one junction north on the M6 is usually quickest. From Great Sankey, Penketh or Stockton Heath, the A57 across to the A49 and north is the road most people take. From Lymm or Grappenhall, the M6 north from junction 20 is the honest answer, and it is still under half an hour.
What we keep in stock
Medium panel vans are the backbone of what we sell, because that is what the trades around here actually run, with small vans alongside them for couriers and mobile services, and long-wheelbase and Luton bodies for the people who move things for a living. We buy for the customers we already have, which is why the same handful of nameplates keeps coming back rather than a shelf of one-offs.
The stock list is live, so it is the honest answer to what is on the forecourt today. If you already know the shape of what you want, the list filters by badge: the Vauxhall Vivaros, the Ford Transit Customs, the full-size Ford Transits and the Peugeot Partners each have their own view. If nothing suits, send us a van request — a fair few of our vans are sold before they ever reach the website.
Warrington work, and what it does to a van

Warrington is a distribution town wrapped around two motorways, and it shows in the vans. A lot of what we take in from WA postcodes has spent its life on multi-drop rounds out of the estates at Omega, Gemini and Birchwood, or running between sites for a trade that covers the whole of the north west. Those are motorway miles, and motorway miles are gentle: high readings on the clock often sit on top of a healthier clutch, flywheel and particulate filter than a lower-mileage van that has never left a town centre.
The reverse is also true, and it is the trap. A van that has spent five years on short runs around Latchford and Orford can look like a bargain on mileage and be tired underneath. Check the clutch bite point, check whether the particulate filter light has ever been on, and read the service history before you read the odometer.
Part-exchange, and selling your old van
Most people arrive in something. We will value what you are driving against what you are buying, and you can get a figure before you set off using our valuation form so there are no surprises when you get here. Cars are fine as well as vans. If you would rather just sell and walk away, we buy outright too — the sell your van page explains how that works.
If there is finance still owing on your current van, that is completely normal and it is not a problem, but it does change the arithmetic. Part-exchanging a van on finance walks through exactly what happens to the settlement figure.
VAT, tax and paying for the van
Commercial vehicles are usually sold plus VAT, and if you are VAT registered you can normally reclaim it, which makes the real cost of a van very different from the number on the screen. Tell us at the start rather than at the end, because it changes every figure we discuss. Some vans carry no VAT at all — no-VAT vans explained covers why that happens — and HMRC’s own guidance on charging and reclaiming VAT is the authority on the rules themselves.
You can pay outright, or we can introduce you to finance. If you are weighing up the options, HP, PCP and leasing explained is the plain-English version and applying for van finance covers what a lender actually asks for. Any firm arranging finance should appear on the Financial Conduct Authority’s register — ours does, and so should anyone else’s. Vehicle tax on a light commercial is a flat rate rather than a CO2 band, and the government’s vehicle tax tables are the authority on what you will pay.
Clean air zones and emissions
Emissions schemes are set city by city and they change, so the only sensible advice on a page meant to last is to check rather than assume. The government’s clean air zone service lists which places operate a charging zone and lets you check a registration against it before you commit to anything. What we can say plainly is that these schemes usually turn on the engine standard rather than the age of the van. If your work takes you into Manchester, Birmingham or London as well as around Warrington, tell us before you choose — it is far cheaper to pick the right van than to swap one later. Should you buy a diesel van covers the wider question honestly.
What happens on the day you collect

Every van we sell is prepared before it goes out, not after somebody complains. That means an MOT with real time left on it, a service where one is due, and the faults our own inspection finds put right first. You can check any van’s MOT record yourself before you travel using the DVLA MOT history service — we would rather you did than take our word for it.
On the day, we hand over the van, the paperwork and the keys, and we notify the DVLA of the change of keeper. The warranty starts from that day. Bring your driving licence if you want to drive one, and the V5C and any service history if you are part-exchanging.
Common questions
How far is your forecourt from Warrington?
About eight miles. Straight up the A49 Winwick Road through Winwick, or two junctions of the M6 from junction 21A to junction 23. Normally fifteen to twenty minutes.
Do I need an appointment to come and look?
No, but it is worth ringing first on 0151 272 0326. Vans move quickly, and a call means we can have the one you are interested in out and ready rather than parked behind three others.
Can I reserve a van before I drive over?
Yes. If you have seen something on the stock list and you want it held while you make the journey, ring us and we will hold it. We would rather do that than have you arrive and find it gone.
Will you take my old van in part-exchange?
Yes, and cars as well as vans. Start with the valuation form so you have a figure before you set off, and bring the V5C and any service history with you.
Do you sell to businesses as well as individuals?
Yes, and most of what we sell goes to sole traders and small businesses. If you are buying through a limited company or you are VAT registered, say so at the start rather than at the end.
